Mahmud Abubakar

The Nigerian Bar Association has asked judges arrested by the Department of State Service over allegation of corruption to suspend sitting and proceed on compulsory suspension.
NBA President Abubakar Mahmud (SAN), who made the request in Abuja yesterday, urged the judges to excuse themselves from all judicial activities until their innocence is proven.
He said the accusation between the affected judicial officers and some politicians and institutions, has made it imperative for the National Judicial Council to salvage the image of the judiciary.
Menawhile another justice of the supreme court yesterday accused Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi and Science and Technology Minister Ogbonnaiya Onu of being the architect of his travails.
He alleged that Rotimi Amaechi and Ogbonaiya Onu had asked him to assist them in relation to the governorship election disputes in Ekiti and Ebonyi states.
