Senate Orders Committee To Investigate CCB Head Office

The senate has directed its committee on Federal Capital Territory, Procurement and Public Petitions to carry out a thorough investigation into the purchase of a new Head Office for the Code of Conduct Bureau.

The development followed a point of order raised by senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West.

Mister Melaye, said the CCB got an approval to build a permanent head office for N8 billion but then purchased another building as head office at the cost of N4.4 billion.

Meanwhile, the Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu in his ruling said it was an allegation and it’s better to allow the relevant senate committee to carry out the investigation before debating the issue.

The senate says it will invite the Minister of Labour and Employment to provide insight into government's road map towards tackling the challenges of unemployment in the country.

The senate’s resolution followed a motion sponsored by Senator Duro Faseyi from Ekiti North.
