Three Female Suicide Bombers Killed By Police In Borno

The Borno Police Command said three female suicide bombers were today killed by security agents after they tried to gain entry into Maiduguri to cause havoc.

The spokesman of the Command,. Victor Isuku, said that the bombers were strapped with improved explosive device on their bodies.

The unexploded IED on the third was rendered safe and detonated by police bomb disposal unit who promptly mobilised to the scene.”

Meanwhile the Defence Headquarters has denied reports that it plans to recruit South African mercenaries to fight Boko Haram.

The acting Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, said that the military can fight and defeat Boko Haram and did not need the assistance of mercenaries.

He said that the story published by a national newspaper, was untrue and disturbing.
