Inspector killed as gunmen attack police station, took-away weapons in Ekiti state

A police inspector was killed ‎while the police armory was raided after about 40 armed men raided Ido-Ekiti Divisional Police Station in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti state yesterday October 14th.

The gunmen stormed the police station at about ‎7pm and started shooting sporadically. The attackers used dynamite to blow open some of the stations safe. Police sources say the armed men came for the armory/weapons as that was their first point of call during the attack.


The police has also ruled out possibility of the armed men coming to release a high profiled detainee as no one was in the police cell as at the time of the attack.
