IGP Set To Investigate Police Allowance Scam For Ondo Poll

Worried by the alleged fraud associated with payment of allowances to police officers deployed for the Ondo State Governorship Poll,  the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has set up a special panel to investigate the scam.

Statement from the Force Headquarters hinted that the IGP was embarrassed by the alarm raised that a large number of the 26, 000 officers drafted to
provide security during the election are yet to be paid and the process of payment has been marred by alleged fraud.

The panel headed by retired AIG, Ali Ahmadu is empowered to launch a thorough investigation into recent payment of allowances to determine if the money released was utilized accordingly by providing bank records as evidence.
