With barely two weeks left in office, Governor of Edo State Adams Oshiomole says he is fulfilled having successfully wrestled his state from the grip of godfathers.
The governor spoke on Monday with newsmen at state house Abuja after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
State house correspondent kehinde amodu reports that before he leaves office, Governor Oshiomole is hoping to convince the president to visit Edo State to commission some of his legacy projects.
Menawhile in a bid to alleviate the sufferings of the people living in the coastal communities of the Niger Delta, the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and the World Bank are entering into partnership to develop a master plan on the development and protection of the areas.
This collaboration is coming as a response to the need to encourage economic activities in the Niger Delta region, as well as to protect it from further environmental degradation.
This was disclosed when the minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Uguru Usani played host to a delegation of the World Bank group, led by Dahlia Lotayef in Abuja, yesterday.
