The House of Representatives has approved the report of the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges who investigated the allegations of sexual misconduct against three lawmakers by the former United States Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwhistle.
The resolution of the committee cleared and exonerated the accused lawmakers from the allegation.
Recalled that Entwistle alleged Mohammed Galolo, Samuel Ikon and Mark Gbillah of sexual misconducct in a letter he wrote to Speaker of the House Yakubu Dogara.
Entwistle stated in the letter that the three lawmakers committed the offence while on a training in the US, in which he alleged them of requesting for sex from a hotel staff.
Mr. Entwistle said the incident occurred when the three lawmakers participated in a leadership conference sponsored by the U.S. State Department in Ohio.
However, Nicholas Ossai, chairman of the 13-member ethics committee, said the panel heard from the three accused lawmakers but their efforts to get Mr. Entwistle to appear were unsuccessful.
